The tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan are displayed at the "FITUR" tourism fair held in Madrid, Spain, organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, together with 4 local partners.
At the fair, which is considered one of the largest tourism events in Spanish-speaking countries, B2B (Business to Business) meetings are held with tour operators and travel agencies from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America, as well as airlines and promotional companies.
During the meetings, the tourism companies of Spanish-speaking countries expressed their interest in organizing joint tours for the South Caucasus region.
At the exhibition, which will continue until January 22, the visitors to the national stand and representatives of the international tourism industry are provided with extensive information about Azerbaijan's tourist attractions, samples of national cuisine, winemaking, golf, health, cultural, as well as mountain, and winter tourism opportunities, mountain-skiing centers.
The national stand of Azerbaijan was visited by Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization, and Ramiz Hasanov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra within the framework of the fair.
It should be noted that more than 8,000 companies from 131 countries participate in the 43rd “FITUR” this year, and more than 120,000 people are expected to visit the exhibition.
